White sauce

Ingredients

  • 1l milk
  • 100g butter
  • 50g flour

Instructions

  1. Heat milk in a microwave-safe jug in the microwave on high (100%) for 2 mins or until hot.
  2. Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
  3. Add the flour and cook, stirring constantly, for 1 min or until grainy.
  4. Remove from heat. Gradually add the milk, whisking to combine.
  5. Return to medium heat. Bring to the boil and cook, whisking, for 5 mins or until the sauce thickens. Season.
